A Little About

Our Farm

Our farm was established in 2004 to grow and provide efficient, expert solutions for growing the finest lavender. We want to bring the best growing information to provide success to our customers and individuals interested in growing their own lavender. Whether it be for personal growers of lavender flower gardens or a commercial lavender growing farm, we want you to be informed so you can grow lavender successfully.

Our primary services include lavender plant sales, educational programs and information on growing lavender. We provide consultation, and, of course, our lavender bath and body product line found at our gift shop and on line at our website. www.purpleadobelavenderfarm.com We also offer a host of events at the farm, with specialty services catering to the unique needs of our clients.

Our farm is located in the beautiful Chama River Valley of Abiquiu, New Mexico. Abiquiu is best known for the captivating views, mountain terrain and Chama River where the painter, Georgia O’Keeffe lived, loved, and painted much of her life. Purple Adobe Lavender Farm has planted 2500 lavender plants, and, because of the terrain with its sandy alluvial soil, high altitude, and intense sunlight, it is the perfect location to grow lavender. Lavender grown at higher altitudes produces a finer, sweeter grade of lavender, and provides our lavender with the most intense amazing scent.

We are dedicated to growing organically. We strive to grow the finest lavender here at our farm in New Mexico. We harvest, sell, and steam distill the lavender flowers to use in our lavender bath and body products. The resurgence to New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, has been welcomed by many as long overdue. Our lavender is grown at a higher altitude which produces a finer grade of aroma-therapeutic lavender essence used in our bath and body product line. These products are available at our gift shop and some local stores, and of course on our online store. Lavender has long been known for its astounding healing qualities: it is a known calmative benefits, and has antibacterial, and anti-microbial properties aiding in its restorative abilities.

Our fields are alive with the scent of lavender during July and August. The intense fragrance will transport you to the lavender farms of Provence, France. “No passport needed”. There is nothing quite so wonderful as a field of lavender. The scent is intoxicating and pleasing to the senses.

Whether you want lavender fresh cut, dried, use for specific crafts or simply adorning your table, we have the variety you need. Just ask us, we are happy to tell you all about lavender and which variety would suit your special needs.

We hope you’ll find the farm as healing and wonderful as we do. We look forward to seeing you at the farm.
